There's this little YouTube channel called StyleLikeU, whose goal is to empower people to accept and express their true selves. I say 'little YouTube channel' because it deserves so many more subscribers.. it has a big place in my heart. They've started interviewing individuals in short videos, in which they strip down to their underwear gradually, to honour how style is not the clothes you wear, it's what's underneath. I absolutely love the concept, so I've decided to dedicate a whole post to it!
Loving yourself is a revolutionary act in a world where self-hatred is a multibillion-pound industry. It takes work, but it's one of the worthiest difficulties you will face. It's a practise, and it's not something you can click your fingers and achieve (Although, if you can, well done!). But fostering a loving relationship with all the quirks and flaws that make you you, I think, should be non-negotiable. So, whether you're looking in the mirror and finding things you love or taking a bomb selfie, get to work <3
Here are some of my favourite videos, although I literally love every single one:
I didn't know this concept but I find it very interesting. It probably can help us to don't forget who we/humans are - it's becoming so hard with the society of consommation, the industry.. x

DeleteI found this youtube channel a couple of months back and was obsessed with watching them all. I need to go back to it. It's such an awesome concept (but yet so simple it's a wonder why there isn't more of this out there). There's a lot of depth to it and definitely worth the whole post dedication. :)
ReplyDeleteYou definitely should, there have been some really inspiring ones lately! I know, I was talking to my mum about that the other day x
