How To Take Part in Fashion Revolution Week 2017

20.4.17

On April 24th 2013, the Rana Plaza complex collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh. 1,138 people were killed and many more were injured. Fashion Revolution is a campaign devoted to demanding change in the fashion industry. It encourages you to ask, 'Who made my clothes?' to demand greater transparency in the fashion supply chain. On 24th April every year, Fashion Revolution Day brings people from all over the world together to use the power of fashion to change the story for the people who make the world's clothes.

How to Turn a Silk Scarf Into a Top - Two Ways

8.4.17

I love silk scarves. I collect them from vintage and charity shops, and I now have quite the collection (a ridiculous amount). I love wearing them in my hair, but other than that I never really wear them. But then I got to thinking, how can I have all of these beautiful pieces of fabric just laying around? I'd seen quite a few pictures of silk scarves as tops and though it looked so gorgeous. I'm a huge fan of the care-free, natural aesthetic recently, and I can just imagine frolicking (frolicking) on the beach wearing this and some shorts. If you have any old scarves gathering dust, I hope you find this useful. Don't let anything go to waste!

Why I Don't Buy Leather

3.4.17

I used to wear a lot of leather. I wasn't even against it until a few years ago. Now I don't buy anything that's made of leather, whether that be jackets, bags or shoes - I don't buy anything that's made of any animal product, actually. Wool, fur, angora, skins, shearling. Pretty much anything that comes from an animal. But why would I even put myself through all that trouble of checking the materials used and 'depriving' myself of 'luxurious' items, and why do I think you should consider doing the same? I'm not going to really get into fur in this post because I think most people know how bad fur is. You can find more information about fur here. For some reason, I feel leather is still not considered to be as bad as fur. People are not really conscious of the implications leather has to the environment, animals, and even humans.
