Dr Martens 1461 Classic Flats

30.7.15

These have been constantly on my mind since I first saw them after obsessing over the american asos. I've found them on amazon for a bit cheaper, and they've taken pride place as the tab on my laptop that will never be closed. BUT, there's no way I can afford to spend £60 on a pair of shoes ( don't start going on at me about my vagabonds, I saved for 4 months and got payed £20 for a blog design and £30 for something on iPlayer ).
I've mentally made a list of pros to try to make myself love them more/less - still trying to figure it out. I tried them on in office a few weeks ago and they are the PERFECT fit, despite being insanely uncomfortable ( aren't all docs though? ). I've worn some in before - only took 2 weeks and 3 pairs of socks all worn at one time. So so practical, they go with everything because of the shape and colour, and I could probably get away with wearing these as school shoes. The list is endless.
Someone tell me if I should get them ( £60!!!!! ), or tell me if you've seen any cheaper lookalikes!

Well, this is overdue, to say the least. I got back halfway through April! It suddenly hit me the other day that I've never done a post about my trip to California, and I have hundreds ( literally ) of photos sitting unused on my camera, gathering dust. That is, if digital files could gather dust.

Venice Beach is one of the craziest places I've ever been to, but I loved it.

My dad took this, he was very proud of himself.

We stopped off at this really cute pizza place called Lucky Penny.

The coolest sweet shop in LA.

Clayton's coffee shop in San Diego

Disney Land!

Universal Studios ( got to see the set of Desperate Housewives aaaaaayy )

Sea Woooorrrllld

Madonna Inn, aka the coolest hotel I've ever been to ( ever )

Punky Pins Jewellery

20.7.15

I could sit here and write about how long I've been admiring this brand, but I won't because I'd be here all day. I've never come across a jewellery website that I love so much. So, as you can imagine, when I found out they would be sending me some items to review, I was over the moon. The pieces from Punky Pins are all beautiful and unique and I want them aaaalll.

The pieces I chose were the peapod necklace and earrings, the rain cloud earrings and the daisy necklace. I was considering buying these myself beforehand!

How cute is this??

 Even cuter!!

I wear this so much, it looks perfect with anything. Unfortunately it's no longer on the website :(

Funkiest earrings I own. Also no longer on the website but these are very similar!

Punky Pins offer Tatty Devine-esque jewellery, and I'm a sucker for every single piece. I especially love their new 'Feeling Fruity' collection. The quality of these pieces are insane, and surprisingly really durable. For what the jewellery is, the prices are perfect and really affordable too.

If you have some spare time, I'd seriously suggest scrolling through the website. I will forever be obsessed.

although I was sent these items to review, it does not influence my opinion and I have been 100% honest as always

OUTFIT 1

top - H&M
sunglasses - vintage
shoes - vagabond
bag - vintage

I'm loving wearing super bright colours at the moment, and this bag over this top looks heavenly! Bright yellows, reds and brown leather compliment each other so nicely, or at least I think so. I'd say this is the perfect holiday outfit for wandering around town.

OUTFIT 2

top - H&M
bag - amazon
shoes - adidas
sunglasses - bought of those creepy people selling fake bags and sunglasses on the beach

This outfit is really, really basic and casual. The kind you'd wear to Sainsbury's after you've been forced to buy bread at 8am. Even complete with my old and very dirty school bag! In all seriousness, I wear these shoes 24/7, meaning they go with everything. EVERYTHING.

OUTFIT 3

top - H&M
jacket - vintage
hairband - vintage
sandals - asos

I think a jacket can really pull an outfit together and my suede jacket - as I've mentioned countless times before - it's perfect. I just love how it can add something to an outfit and spin it in a completely different direction. You could be wearing a skirt and crop top, looking all preppy, then add a bit of suede and you're a mysterious 70's bombshell ( I know that doesn't apply to the 70's but I couldn't think of another word ). The hairband I also love. It was gifted to me a few years ago.

i'm 13!!

12.7.15

Still slightly struggling to believe it as I remember my 10th birthday super clearly. In about 2 months all my friends will be 14, but hey ho. At least I'm not labelled as a little kid anymore. Well, not a tiny one.
