december clothes wish list

29.11.14

1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9

I feel like I'm starting to branch out a bit more in terms of clothing, until previously I've been very tied down, and always felt pressured to buy what my friends or other bloggers were wearing. Scrolling through urban outfitters and loooaaads of independent clothing stores, I realised it's time to channel my inner glitter-loving hippy and just wear what makes me feel happy.
Okay, the green skirt. THE green skirt. The girl in the green skirt. If anyone's seen Confessions of a Shopaholic they'll understand me right now. Words cannot express how much love and need I have for this - billions of things I could wear this with a springing to mind. Including the v-neck top. V-neck is a bit like mustard ( clothing ) for me. I love it, but don't have the confidence to buy it or pull it off. But it's sooo sparkly and beautiful so I think an exception can be made.
The stripe mesh tunic I actually included in my previous wish list post. Never have I laid eyes upon an item of clothing so perfect for layering. As it is on the pricey side, I'm praying mum and dad will notice it on my 5ft long Christmas list, along with the boho print tunic top. I think these would look lovely together, worn without any bottoms, as a dress - kind of -, as they're both oversized.

the oversized shirt

27.11.14

shirt - j crew
top - h and m
jeans - topshop
shoes - adidas

Yes, I am aware this shirt makes me look like a lumberjack, and yes, I am aware the new lighting experiment didn't go as planned, but please appreciate my new baby. The shirt that is, I haven't been hiding pregnancy. Originally, I think it's from J-Crew, but I bought it for £4 ( !!!!! ) at my school's Christmas fair. On the website it's crazy how much more expensive it is. Christmas is going to be heaven with this, maybe made a bit worse by my dad constantly reminding me it's a boy's shirt and looks like my dressing gown. But I love it, and the amount of cosiness is insane.

my favourite things about christmas time

25.11.14

Before I start, this is a collab with the lovely Kate from Pink and Mint xo, or @pinkandmintxo. Her blog and instagram are incredible, and she's so lovely.

As you probably know, Lush recently brought out the classic Christmas range, yes, I have fallen in love with it all over again, and yes, I have already spent a laughable amount of money on things I will use once. I'm restricting myself to not use any of it until December, the idea is I'll be smelling lovely all through the month - did my sarcasm show through at all in that?

Some of my favourite products are:

so white bath bomb
candy mountain bubble bar
melting snowman bath melt
snow fairy shower gel
cinders bath bomb
magic wand bubble bar

fashion blogger sweatshirt - asos
snowman jumper - new look but really really old

Excuse my solemn face. Cosy jumpers are my life and soul. Is there really anything else to it? If I'm feeling a bit down, I just make myself a hot chocolate, pick up a good book and snuggle down into layers of wool and fur.

Continuing with the cosiness theme, winter wouldn't be what it is without fluffy blankets. I love watching Christmas films ( add Elf and The Grinch onto this list ) with more hot chocolate, and a blanket covered in reindeers really gets me in the Christmassy spirit.
And cosy socks help keep my feet warm in the morning when I'm grumpy as ever and mum refuses to turn the heating on. These ones are from Primark, and came in a set of two for £2.50. I had one of those spur of the moment trips after school, and went looking for something with a robin on it, and I have no regrets purchasing these.

Candlessss caaandleesss - that was supposed to be me serenading the incredible glass pot of scented wax. When it's cold and rainy outside, I love burning candles in my room and laughing at the coldness if that makes sense. During Christmas time, I tend to splurge at the Yankee Candle shop, and the candle I've been loving is their Snowflake Cookie. It's exactly like when you come downstairs and someone's made those sickly too-much-icing Christmas tree cookies. I love it.

Things are about to get a bit cheesy. Of course, the best thing about Christmas is being with my incredible family. As much as I love a candy scented shower gel, there's nothing like eating mince pies around a Christmas tree and waking up on December 25th with the people you love.

pixie wishes jewellery

22.11.14

I was sent this lovely piece of jewellery by a company called Pixie Wishes which is an online shop that sells the cutest little accessories. The piece I picked out was the Fairy Dust necklace. It was under £5 so very affordable, and they have such a wide range of items that you'll definitely find something that you like!
It came really nicely packaged so would make a perfect gift for someone this Christmas. I've already worn the necklace a few times, and I love how delicate it looks, but adds elegance to an outfit, especially if I was wearing it with black, makes me look a little less like an emo. You can also get a discount with the code EDIE5.

although I was sent this item to review, it does not influence my opinion and I have been 100% honest

from halloween

19.11.14

Seems months ago now. But I had the sudden realisation I never did a post to conclude my Halloween week. I took quite a few photos but some of them got deleted. It was a fun night.

mustard

4.11.14

1/2/3/4/5

Yesterday I was scrolling through my blog and I realised I hadn't done a current obsession merged with a wish list sort of post in yonks. Winter is finally starting to rear it's ugly head - right now, I'm still stuck with all my summer clothes and keep thinking 'hey maybe it'll be sunny today' and come home with an icicle hanging off my nose.

Mustard is one of my favourite colours for autumn, and one I wish I had more of. I love how it looks with everything, especially monochrome. It would look lovleyyy with a deep purple as well.
