Please excuse the blurry, bad quality collage. I was in a rush putting it together because the computer was on 11% and if it turned off all the links and pictures would be lost and I couldn't find the charger. Hard times. I thought it high time for a wish list as I'm one of those people who have loads of things they want but never write them down and end up asking for socks for Christmas ( what? ).

I find these kind of posts really helpful, especially when there are discounts floating around, so I though I'd add mine to the mix. There's TOO MUCH STUFF on Topshop ( not a bad thing ), but a quick look on the website turns out to be a two hour t-shirt shopping spree. I AM GETTING THAT TUNIC TOP. I did see it in Topshop when I was was with my mum and freaked out a bit, she made a face and refused to buy it ( I was broke ), I cried a bit and added it the the wish list. Also a cable knit jumper because I need a super warm one and I love the look of it ( and the colour ). I also am in desperate need of the lovely shell print tee, I think it would look amazing under the soon-to-be jumper. 

The other items are equally dreamy, but my money won't stretch that far, sadly.
p.s - just to add to it, there are some magazines I need subscriptions to. Frankie, Betty, Majestic Disorder and Oh Comedy. Also a little black cami would be nice. Oh, Edie, you need to stop now.
pps - I would also like this and this but the chances of that happening are 0%.

embellished sunglasses

If I'm honest, I think this is taking florals to a whole new, over the top level. No, I'm not saying I don't love embellished sunglasses, but who came up with them? I'm still hanging on to the end of summer, and I'm thinking maybe if I order the lovely ones from Missguided I'll get some ( even if it's not very much ) use out of them? Descisions. However, I'm still broke from ordering too much off topshop when they were having that 75% off sale ( post here ). They are the ULTIMATE, sophisticated yet edgy summer accessory. I know I would never get away with wearing them walking around town or casually, but maybe next time I go on holiday? - which will be April next year. Ha. I might just stick to reblogging pictures of them on tumblr.

making sea spray

Howdy folks. Today imma be makin some sea spray innit. It's always sad when you wake up and you try to use your favourite product but it's all gone. I recently experienced this with my sea spray from Lush. It's the holy grail of hair products and for around a week my hair made me go bleeuurgh every time I touched it or saw it in the mirror. But, I have taken a wild guess at what might be in it to make some of my own sea spray ( or something vaguely similar ).

You'll Probably Not Need

  • the empty bottle that used to contain your sea spray ( or just an empty bottle with a nozzle spray thing at the top ). Make sure it's completely cleaned out too before you go putting washing up liquid on your hair 
  • some pretty warm water ( just enough to fill your bottle )
  • a tea spoon of some sort of hair oil ( macadamia etc ). I didn't actually have any, so I just used a few sprays of a sun protector hair moisturiser thing. Anything that leaves your hair super soft.
  • half a teaspoon of any hair product that smells nice - hair mousturiser, hair balm, maybe even a blob of conditioner. I used an aussie conditioner spray.
  • a few drops of lemon juice. This one's optional, but as I'm in a very sunny country at the moment, I thought I'd take advantage and make my hair a little blonder. If that's possible.
  • something to put on the front bottle to remind yourself it's sea spray and not what it previously was.
                                       ...mix it all together...
                                             ...give it a shake...

and done.

Let me introduce you to Sylvie, my slightly mad four year old sister. As well as being adorable, sweet and hilarious, she is a serious style icon, as you can see. I made an agreement with my mum to let her wear what ever she wanted for a week, and she came up with some.. interesting outfits. Using leggings, as a scarf, well that's gonna be a trend soon ( !? ). And sometimes I think she looks better in my american apparel top than me.
She was watching me write this, just so you know. She can't read very well, but if looks could kill!!

frankie magazine

Warning - this post is going to contain a lot of 'wowza' and 'the world's most amazing magazine'. But that's only necessary because IT IS.
Frankie is a monthly Australian magazine. It's not one of those super serious fashion magazines, but rather a more crafty, arty little book. It also features music, snazzy photography, fashion and once there was a tutorial for a diy apple pinata. It has independent clothing brands in there too, so it's my dream. If Etsy was paper, this would be it. I probably buy this more than company, which is really saying something.

large amounts of bags

A girl can never have too many bags. Especially tote bags. I have an obscene amount and it's getting to the point where I have to store bag upon bag in other bags and it all just gets very confusing. But out of all these bags not one seems to be practical, apart from that £2 satchel from Primark, if that even counts. My dream bag? Definitely a little brown satchel, with scalloped edges. I've tracked it down and it's from asos, it's gorgeous. Below are some bags I've been eyeing up for a while - the pug tote I actually need.

iPhone and headphones - for music and pointless time consuming games, such as bike race, flappy bird, subway surf, bounce slime, spoon mania, the list goes on. For music I either listen to my iTunes music, or, there are these two amazing apps that are completely free. PocketTube and TubeUp let you download 15 songs each that you can listen to without any wifi and they're both completely free. Best discoveries ever.

Reading material - I am the world's biggest bookworm so this is an absolute essential for me. The book I'm reading is called The Rosie project by Graeme Simsion, and it's about a man with asperges who sends out questionnares to find himself a wife and it's hilarious. I'm also re-reading for the 4th time I think, It by Alexa Chung. It's a version of an autobiography, with her childhood idols, fashion inspirations and a whole bunch of other stuff strung together to make one of the most unique and interesting books I've read. Finally, company magazine, all clothes and lovely people.

Skin care - for when your face starts feeling like sand. Simple cleansing wipes and a light moisturiser are lifesavers on a long flight, as well as a toothbrush and toothpaste. I always feel disgusting on aeroplanes.

Lip balm - so y'all lips feel nice and fruity.

Tangle teazer - you know when you have your hair up in a bun for ages and then half way through the flight it all starts falling out and you lose all your hair pins and it's all tangled up in the hair band? Yep, that's when you wish you had one of these.

iPad - the same use as the iPhone only you can watch endless episodes of Friends and Miranda.

A little notebook and pens - the notebook is my 'blog book', which is where I write ideas for it, posts I want to do, remembering old layouts etc. The pens are all fruit scented so the book smells incredible!

hairspiration

Another tumblr post. God help me. My hair is the hardest thing to manage - the length is incredibly awkward as the hairdresser chopped it all off ( I asked for a trim ). My fringe is at that stage where its's almost too long to wear down so I have to tie it up but it falls out in seperate strands. Now I hardly ever have my hair down. And it grows painfully slowly. I can still dream of having long purple hair, but there are some styles that work. I love twists on simple hairstyles, like fishtail plaits or ponytails, but intricate plaits have always been my favourite. If I ever learn how to do any other interesting plait apart from a waterfall braid it'll be all I'm wearing in my hair.

a sort of summery playlist

After five plane flights in the last month you can imagine why I felt the need to put together a playlist. I HATE flying, mainly because I get scared out of my mind, and my neck starts to ache, my face feels like it's about to explode, my ears won't pop and I basically die. So I needed ( still need ) a summery playlist. Only, under half of it's summery.
There's a mixture of song types on this so hopefully it's not all too similar ( warning - there's a lot of the black keys and arcade fire ). Let me know which artists you've been loving so I have some more people to listen to. I'll probably keep going back to this post and adding some more songs but this is my current sort of summery playlist.

I've had my hair in a bun for 2 days and when I took it out it was all puffy and frizzy and I thought it looked cool and 60s to go with the monochrome but it just looks like a lion's mane really.
I love the 60s fashion. Up until then nobody wore anything exciting, then BAM - mini skirts were introduced, psychedelic prints were everywhere and mixing prints started, which is something I really want to try. And most importantly, tie-dye and paisley print. I love love love tie-dye. I say this not owning anything like that. They have super nice oversized tie-dye shirts in Urban Outfitters, which I'll definitely buy when if I have enough money. As for paisley, I'm still looking for that perfect smock dress.
Now onto what's actually in the post. I love the contrast of the black and white and I think it's such a statement, something I love wearing in summer. I'm still not sure wether I like the lace back of this top, or if it goes with the gingham but this could be an experiment for mixing prints. Overload of 60s clothing to wear for the summer? Yes please.

getting crazy because of topshop's sale

If you didn't know ( well WHY didn't you know?! ), Topshop is having a HUGE sale - up to 75% off soooooo many things. So what else can I do other than help y'all out with some of my favourite pieces instead of having to scroll through endless pages or fight with people at stores. I have already ordered a lot of some things but there are still so many gorgeous items that I wish I'd never seen because now I'm upset that half of them aren't even available in my size. My favourites are the mom shorts. I've been wanting a pair for ages and the colour is just so lovely. Even though summer is nearly over I can still wear them with black tights ( I have some elephant ones - got weird looks at the airport for that ), which I think will look really nice. And nothing beats a classic cami. I'm in love with the floral one, looks like it can be worn with a lot of things - tights and shorts, leggings, loads of jumpers, jeans etc.
I'm still not quite ready for summer to be over, I'll be grieving for months after.

NEW FAVOURITE COLOUR ALERT. Being summer I'm seeing this colour everywhere and it's just so lovely. So I've decided I must have as many lilac items of clothing as possible. Which of course won't happen because I've spent all my money on sherbet dib-dabs and rainbow loom bands ( oh Edie ). Once again american apparel have some amazing lilac clothes that I can only dream of wearing one day.
I've put together a wishlist of lilac that I NEEEEED. Lilac Dr Martens? Check.

dipdye

I can't make up my mind about this. The whole craze started off with a few people dip dying their hair obmre but now it's all mad rainbow colours. Being a tumblr addict I've been swamped in bright and pastel and blonde tipped ends and it's really made me tempted to dip dye my hair for the rest of the summer. I doubt I'll be brave enough, especially as it probably won't wash out by the time school starts and I have the type of teaches that won't hesitate to rip your throat out if you go near any dye.
I just love teal colours so if I do dye my hair it'll be blue-y ends. If anyone knows a way apart from bleach to dip dye your hair please please pleeaase let me know.
